   a)   Organization Fees

Motion:  Angela Englishharden             Second:  Bethany Schmitt

b)      Impact of ISAT Test Schedule on Organization Contest
Everyone was in agreement that the ISAT testing schedule makes it very difficult to attend Organization contest in March.  The Chairman presented IGSMA District II’s idea of switching dates, but it was not viewed as the best solution.  Another idea was to host contest in March for those groups who want to attend State contest and to host another Organization contest in April for those groups who do not wish to attend State contest.  Many ideas and suggestions to about the format for the April contest were discussed and it was decided that the chairman would survey all member schools in October to determine the level of interest in pursuing this event for the 2008-2009 school year.

c)      Best of Day Recital at Solo & Ensemble Contest
i)
Everyone agreed that the Best of Day recital is an excellent idea, but is logistically impossible.  We will no longer be trying to have a Best of Day recital at our local contests.
ii)
It was mentioned that College/University Schools of Music may be interested in hosting this recital.  The Chairman will contact some of the local university music departments.
iii)
The Chairman will still send a list of all Best of Day winners to all District 3 members and will post the list of all Best of Day winners to the District 3 website.

5)      New Business
a)      Contest Dates, Sites, and Hosts
         i)        Mike Wallace will host Solo & Ensemble Contest.  It will be held at Bloomington JHS, on
               Saturday, February 23, 2008.

ii)      Jennifer Bolton, Parkside JHS in Normal is interested in hosting Organization contest and will try
to make final arrangements.  If anyone else is interested in hosting, please contact the District III
              Chairman as soon as possible.

         i)      There will be no State Contest Hosts from District III this year.
